New London County 4-H Camp

Have a question? We have the answer. Check out these FAQs and give us a call today for more information!

  • Do I have to be a member of 4-H?

Membership in a 4-H group is not a requirement for your child to attend our camp.
  • Can friends bunk together

We make efforts to accommodate such requests. However, factors like age and grade levels are taken into consideration. Please contact us for more information.
  • Do you accommodate special diets?

Our camp caters to various dietary needs, including gluten-free, wheat-free, and vegan options for both campers and staff.
  • How do you handle the medications my child will need?

A nurse is available on-site 24/7 to administer medications. Prescribed medications require a doctor's form, while over-the-counter medications need a separate form.
  • If my child gets home sick can they come home?

In our experience, parents often feel more homesick than the children. Most campers adjust well and enjoy their stay.
  • Do you take credit cards?

We accept Visa, MasterCard, and Discover credit cards, as well as personal checks for payment.
  • When do I pay for the camp week?

Full payment is required at registration if a special offer is available. Otherwise, a $100 deposit is due at registration, with the remaining balance payable on the day of attendance.
  • What are the hours for day camp?

Day camp operates from 8 am to 5 pm. Day campers attend an orientation on Sunday, with regular programs commencing on Monday.

  • What day does camp start/end on?

The camp session begins on Sunday and concludes on Friday with a closing ceremony.
  • What certification does NLC 4-H Camp hold?

Our counselors are lifeguard, archery, ropes course, and boating/kayaking/canoeing-certified, and NLC 4-H Camp is licensed by the state of Connecticut.
